enjoy<\/em>ware \u2014 Ceramic dishes for the table<\/h1>\n

I like making enjoy<\/em>ware. The circular uniformity of food dishes provides a good canvas for painting spirals, and working in series allows for improvisation. Each series of enjoy<\/em>ware has the same palette of colors, symbols and design elements. The enjoy<\/em>ware project is dedicated to Oshun, Orisha (Goddess) of Rivers and sweet waters, and all enjoyments.
\n__<\/span>
\nThe dish forms (plates, cups, bowls) are manufactured from molds, and bisque-fired at the factory, really they are “blank canvases.” I create an original, unique painting on each dish with underglaze colors, and then apply an overall clear glaze and fire the work again.
