Circle of Safety, Learning How to be Fully Supported

Web Altar Cloth Number One
This is the first in a series of Web Altar Cloths I made for invocation and meditation. The Circle of Safety Web invokes a web of community made up of supportive relationships and the ability to make good use of them. It is made of a layer of sheer purple cloth over red satin cloth held together by gold safety pins. The web is woven of gold thread within the circle of safety pins. Symbols, images charms and milagros honor members of my community—friends, family, goddesses and animal allies. In the center of the web is a red and gold butterfly, symbolizing this transformation.
